What you type here never reaches us
When you tell us what you're going through, your own phone or computer does the searching. The sentence you wrote is matched against the topics on this site inside your browser, and then it's gone. It is never sent to us, never written down, and never stored anywhere — not on our side, not on yours.
That includes the hardest cases. If what you write suggests you may be thinking of ending your life, the page shows you a crisis line. Nothing that could point back to you is recorded — not the words, not your device code, not your visit code, not where you came from. We add one to a daily total of how many times that screen appeared, and that is all. It is a plain number with nothing attached to it, and we keep it only because it's the one way to tell whether the site is showing that screen far too often, or failing to show it when it should.
If you use Say it out loud, your browser sends what you say to Google's speech service to turn it into words on the screen. That's your browser's own feature, not ours, and it follows Google's privacy terms. If you'd rather not use it, type instead.
What we do count
So we know whether this site is actually helping anyone, we keep counts — never a record of a person.
- Which pages get opened and how far people read. Stored with a random code for your device and a random code for your visit. Those codes are made up of numbers; they carry no name, no email, no phone number, and they are not tied to anything that could identify you.
- What kind of help was needed. When the site finds you a topic, it files a set of short codes — for instance health, someone else, urgent — and adds one to a daily tally. There is no field anywhere in that record that can hold a sentence, so the words you wrote cannot end up there even by mistake. The tally is a daily total; there is no row for you.
- Where the link came from, if you arrived by one someone shared.
We don't store your IP address. When your browser hasn't got a device code — the first moment of a first visit — we make a short scrambled value out of your address and the day's date so the same visit isn't counted twice. It can't be turned back into an address, and it stops working the next day.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
- No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no third-party scripts of any kind. The fonts are served from this site, not from anyone else's.
- We do not sell, rent, share or trade anything about you. Not now, not later.
- We don't build a profile of you or try to work out who you are.
What's kept on your own device
The site stores a few small things in your browser, which never leave it: whether you chose larger text, your random device and visit codes, and — only if you press Keep praying about this — the name of the topic and the date, so we can ask how it's going when you come back. Never what you wrote. Clearing your browser data erases all of it.
Your email, only if you offer it
If you sign up for the morning word, we keep your email address and the date you gave it. We use it for one thing: sending you that word. We will not sell it, share it, or use it to sell you anything.
Asking for a daily prayer says something about your religious beliefs, which US state privacy laws treat as sensitive information. That's why the box is there for you to tick yourself: giving us the address is entirely your choice, you can change your mind, and nothing on this site is locked behind it.
How long we keep things
The counts described above are deleted automatically after twelve months. Your email address is kept until you ask us to remove it.
Having it deleted
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, and we'll do it. Because we never learn your name, the only thing we can look up is an email address you gave us — so write from that address, or tell us what it is.
Write to bringittogod@gmail.com. Every email we send also has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, which removes your address on the spot.
We won't treat you differently for asking. There is nothing to lose: the site is free and nothing here requires an account.
Children
This site is meant for adults and we don't knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
Where this runs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, in the United States. Cloudflare handles the counts described above on our behalf and is not permitted to use them for anything else.
One more thing
This site is a place to read Scripture and pray. It is not counseling, medical care, or a substitute for your church, your doctor, or someone who can sit with you. If you are in danger, call or text 988, or call 911.
Changes
If this ever changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the previous wording stops applying only from that date forward.
